Giant Eagle is having an awesome week!  I know I say that a lot but it's true!

Today at Giant Eagle I was able to buy 2 Swiffer wet refills, 2 Swiffer dry refills, Febreeze Air Effects, Febreeze Set & Refresh, Kleenex hand towels, Nature Valley granola bars, 2 big size Dawn dishsoaps for $13.28 ($1.68 of that was tax, which is often added before coupons) and I received $10.00 off my next purchase! Yay!!

Rice Roni and Pasta Roni-On sale 10 for $10...look for Free Pasta Roni when you buy 3 Rice Roni peelies (sticker coupons on the box) If you buy 10 you get $2.00 off your next purchase.

There is alot of cleaning supplies and paper products on sale this week.  If you are in need check it out! Now is the time of year to stock up on cleaning supplies, so estimate what you need for a year and if you get good deals, buy them! 

Another deal I plan on doing is the Herbal Essence/Aussie deal.  If you buy 4 products priced at 2/$5 then you get $2.00 off your next purchase.  I plan on buying 4 Herbal Essences and using (2) Buy one get one free coupons from the paper a few weeks back AND if they let me my $1/2 coupon.  Rumor has it Giant Eagle isn't allowing you to do that anymore, but worth a shot.  If they let me do all 3 coupons I will pay $4 out of pocket and receive $2.00 off my next trip. I like to pay only 0.50 for shampoo...ideally FREE is the way to go. Shampoo is an item that you can get free.

Also my youngest daughter, Brenna will be 1 on April 1st. I have been busy planning her party, and sulking in the fact that my baby is going to be one. The year has gone by so fast, and her first few months were definitely a blur.

I did attempt Walgreens this week.  Colgate toothbrushes are on sale 2/$6, and if you buy 2 you get a $4 Register Reward, plus I had two $2.00 off coupons. I hope to take this $4.00 Register Reward I earned and buy 2 Skintimate shave gels plus a Lady Speed Stick and spend nothing but tax, and earn another $3.00 in Register Rewards. We'll see if I get a chance to head back there this week.

Rite Aid-I have $15 in +UP's that expire this week.  Nothing in their sale ad impresses me that will earn me +UP's. So...I might be buying my kids some Easter stuff, or buying some infant Rite Aid brand Tylenol since it's BOGO. Still need to work up a deal.

At Giant Eagle, I managed to get 20 packets of Kool-Aid and three 2 liters of Diet Pepsi for free. My total before my Advantage Card was $181, after Advantage Card $139.00 and I paid $95. I got 2 huge packs of Brawny paper towels, diapers, case of wipes, and an overflowing cart for this, but it's still more than I like to spend. 

Since I have been over spending I am going to attempt to only spend XX amount of dollars towards stocking up.  Each week I hope to post what my stock up items will be for the week.  Then after that, I really hope to get back on the meal planning wagon.  By meal planning, we really do save money and I tend to keep myself in check at the store better as well.  Wish me luck, and I will keep you updated! If Giant Eagle is having an awesome sale, I might blow my entire stock up money there!

Interesting article about produce!

As I do every night, I am going to all my favorite coupon blogs to see if anything interesting has popped up.  I found a really good blog post at The Krazy Coupon Lady! It is about weighing produce before you buy it.  To read the full article head here.

Basically it said that when you buy something that is priced per item, like strawberries to head over to the scale and get the one that weighs the most.  They are all priced the same but some packages weigh more than others!  I am definitely going to try this next time I buy produce!

Anyone already do this?  Any other tips to save money on produce?  Another thing I like to do is use the catalina's I receive for $3.00 off my next purchase on my produce since there is not a lot of coupons in this department!

Tackling the playroom....and it feels good!

Clearing the Clutter, Day 1
Once my girls were in bed, I decided to tackle the playroom.  I must say my 4 yr old's ability to put a sticker on anything and everything she can find amazes me! A doll she just got for Christmas has stickers on her plastic legs.  That doll cost me $27 AFTER my coupon! (The life size Tangled doll in case you're wondering) So because of that I pretty much threw away any unused stickers I could find.  I went through all the toys and came up with a garbage bag of trash, 2 small bags and lots of baby dolls to either donate, give away to family/friends, or sell.  I will figure that out later :)

Tomorrow I hope to tackle the play room closet, which conveniently holds alot of clutter without many people noticing. I must admit, it is nice to see my playroom looking like this.  I am going to savor this moment because I know by the time I come home from work tomorrow it will be a giant mess again!

The Cost of Clutter

Spring has officially sprung! Every spring I get the clean/organize bug and I am hoping this is the year I officially get rid of the clutter in our house!  With 3 children in my house, we have a lot of toys and clutter! Walking through our play room some days is dangerous! If you saw my basement you would be in shock! And then there is my overflowing health and beauty stock pile that has taken up the hallway floor....yes, we have clutter!

If you search the internet for cost of clutter many articles come up, my goal is to read through these articles and share the info with you.  Also I am going to try and figure out the true cost of the clutter in our household.  I will be doing a yard sale, giving away various baby gear/clothes and other items. Hopefully this blog will keep me accountable!

Based on an article I read tonight it said to take your home's value divided by the square footage equals the value of each square foot in your home.  If you calculate about how much square footage contains clutter that will give you an idea of how much it is costing you!

I think this week I am going to work on the playroom after my girl's are in bed.  Even if I only spend 15 minutes a night working on a room, thats better than I was doing!

Hot Target coupons!

Usually on Sundays Target will update their printable coupons. I have been slacking on my Target shopping but I decided to check it out this morning.  A few coupons that I think are worth printing is:

$1.00 off Hanes apparel-Women's 3 pack of underwear is $5.50 this week, so after coupon $4.50! This can also be used in the men's or children's department.

$3 off Liz Lange apparel-I plan to hit the clearance racks for a shirt or something, probably will be super cheap once the $3.00 is taken off!

$1.00 off Circo apparel or accessory-I am sure I will be able to find something that is Circo that I like.  This doesn't expire until 4/23 so I might hang onto this one in hopes of a sale.

BOGO Reese cup-I think this will be good to have in case I go shopping with my girls and they get antsy, I can promise them a Reese cup if they are good and get 2 for 0.69! (Not the best deal, but better than paying full price for 2!)

We're probably doing a Target run today so if I find any awesome Liz Lange clearance I will let everyone know! What I am really hoping to find is pink valances on clearance...we're in the middle of a huge bedroom swap in our house!

Duncan Hines brownies-On sale for $1.50, there is an online printable for 0.50/1 and there is also a 0.50/1 E-Offer....FREE!!!

Steam Fresh Veggies-On sale for $1.00, there were coupons for $1/3 in Red Plum a few weeks back, I plan on buying 12 bags!

Brownberry Bread-On sale as BOGO, and there is 0.55/1 coupons out there, use 2 and get $2.20 off the bread, I am assuming this will get me cheap healthy bread!

Best Life Buttery Spread-On sale for $1.00 and there was $1.00 off coupons awhile back.  FREE

Franks Hot Sauce-On sale for $1.00 and in this week's Smart Source there was 0.50/1 coupon FREE
